Placer County’s Film Placer Tahoe website takes home prestigious honor in statewide communication awards
This website has earned statewide recognition.
FilmPlacerTahoe.com was one of four Placer County submissions to bring home an award in this year’s California Association of Public Information Officials’ EPIC Awards for communication.
CAPIO’s EPIC Awards program recognizes the most creative and effective efforts in the areas of communication and marketing campaigns, newsletter production, photography, special events, writing, website development and video production.
“We are honored to be recognized by communication professionals in our field,” said Wendy Williams, director of Placer’s Communications and Public Affairs Office. “It is important for county government to engage its residents through effective communication and we are passionate about getting it right.”
This website was one of three Placer entries that received the program’s top honor, the EPIC award. One other won CAPIO’s Award of Distinction.
“We knew we wanted to put together a site special enough to showcase the natural beauty and history of Placer County,” said Juli Johnston, film office liaison. “This award confirms what we’ve known; our website is one of the best in the state and perfectly encapsulates Placer County.”
The success of the website’s launch and ensuing rebranding contributed to an estimated $5.53 million in film-related economic activity in Placer County in 2023.
