No matter the season, our mountain ranges offer breath-taking beauty and leave you in awe. The Placer Mountains roll through Auburn and all the way up to Lake Tahoe. Snow-packed and scenic, they offer access to remote communities and easy passage via Interstate-80.
The Foresthill Bridge in Auburn is the tallest bridge in California at 730 feet tall, spanning 2,428 feet over the American River canyon. The bridge was featured in popular films such as “XXX” (2002) starring Vin Diesel and “The Ugly Truth” (2009) starring Katherine Heigl and Gerard Butler.
At the peak, Lake Tahoe is Placer’s crown jewel with year-round beauty.
