2025 HALL OF FAME CLASS RECOGNITION
Local filmmaker Rob Gore is no stranger to the big stage and bright lights. The longtime actor and producer has walked his fair share of red carpets, but thanks to some secrecy from his family, he was star-struck last month at the “A Place Called Sacramento” film festival Hall of Fame ceremony.
Gore showed up to the awards ceremony Oct. 11 without any idea he’d be taking center stage. But after receiving his award, he saw familiar faces – his wife, Placer County Supervisor Bonnie Gore and his family. Bonnie had kept their attendance a secret, which made the celebration even more special.
Rob Gore was inducted into the A Place Called Sacramento Hall of Fame as part of the 2025 class.
“It is a wonderful honor to be acknowledged for my many years of work as a filmmaker,” Rob said in a Facebook post. “It was the 25th anniversary of [A Place Called Sacramento] and I believe I have attended almost every year. This award was a surprise and I am overjoyed to share it with my family and many magnificent filmmaking friends. Many thanks to Access Sacramento and Donna Girot for this incredible recognition.”
Last year, Rob’s short film, “Love Wins” (2024), was one of ten winners in “A Place Called Sacramento” scriptwriting competition. The film was also honored earlier this year at the SacTown Movie Buffs Film Festival.
Gore is also known for his acting. He had roles in the feature film “Abigail” (2023), as well as “Hope for the Holidays” (2020), and the Discovery Channel VR 360º film “Jailbreak” (2016). He also acted on the TV show “I (Almost) Got Away with It.” Most recently, he portrayed the mayor in the recent feature film, “No Address” (2025), which filmed in Sacramento and Placer counties.
Gore studied theatre arts at California State University, Fullerton and California State University, Fresno.
We, as a film office, acknowledge Rob Gore for his additions to the film community here in Placer County and throughout the region.
